Balocco Proving Ground

A track day at the Balocco Proving Ground is no ordinary spin around the track.
It is an environment designed for vehicle development, where every curve and straightaway serves a specific purpose; indeed, the corners were originally modeled after sections of the most renowned international circuits of the era. Established in 1962 to fine-tune Alfa Romeo sports cars, the facility opened alongside the Arese plant. In the 1980s, it became the home of Autodelta, and legendary models such as the Giulia Sprint GTA and the Tipo 33 were developed there.

Over the decades, the original layout was expanded to include a high-speed ring (1992), the "Langhe" (inner and outer) circuits, an off-road track, and numerous other road sections for all manner of experimental testing. Today, the complex boasts 27 tracks, all ISO-certified and meeting the highest safety standards. It remains a crown jewel for the Stellantis Group, serving as a prestigious venue and hosting events at the "Cascina Luigina" complex.

You can drive your own car on the legendary "Misto Alfa" circuit during track days—which is exactly what we did. The price also includes access to the Langhe circuit, a much twistier track that effectively resembles a miniature Nürburgring.

Side note: having worked at Balocco and driven many cars on those tracks, I was on home turf.
