The Fox Running

The Fox Running

Fox is a championship. It's the championship created for those who didn't have a penny to their name.

From the Fox homepage:

The Fox spirit

Fox Running is passion.

Fox Running is fun.

Fox Running is... only for beastly drivers!

These races are the royal rumble of advanced amateurs, who try their hand with any type of car, no matter the year or type; even diesels are fine.

Format? ENDURANCE. The tracks? Castelletto, Pomposa, Varano, and starting this year also Balocco, Modena, Cremona. These are the best trackday circuits in northern Italy.

There are more and more teams with advanced vehicles, perhaps the original camaraderie is fading, because when something works, people get sucked into it. Today, for a seat, some teams will ask you 1000 euros per event for 2 or 3 hours of driving.

Here are photos of my participation as a Driver in 2025, at the Busca circuit, with those wonderful guys from Special Stages and their 156 which so much resembles the SuperTurismo era.

Wet race, semi-slicks, stiff setup, and no ABS. We start in the morning and the car can't stay on track. I bring it home. In the afternoon, during my turn, the asphalt is dry but we have a slightly bent rear wheel... extra camber. Contacts are frequent, it's the spirit of the competition; at one point I found myself behind two BMW E36s with historical livery; I was faster in the twisty sections but they had more traction, making it difficult to overtake them. When I then got out for the driver change, my smile made the race engineer understand how much I had enjoyed that overtake, fantasizing about the great Giovanardi.

I'll leave you with some photos from pro Smellofwheels and a montage from my smartphone (I had to focus on driving XD)
